About Us

Decode the Game.

Sports is more than a scorecard.

It is about the moments that define matches, the people behind the performances, the stories that happen away from the spotlight, and the questions that deserve to be asked.

The Sports Decode is a digital sports journalism platform built with a simple purpose — to bring sports closer to the audience through credible reporting, original stories, ground coverage, analysis and meaningful sports storytelling.

We don’t want to simply tell you who won or lost.

We want to tell you the story behind the game.

What We Cover

The Sports Decode covers cricket, football and major sporting events, with a focus on stories that go beyond routine match updates.

Our coverage includes:

  • Breaking sports news
  • Match and tournament coverage
  • Ground reports
  • Player and team stories
  • Interviews
  • Features and special stories
  • Sports analysis
  • History and nostalgia
  • Behind-the-scenes stories
  • Major sporting events and tournaments
  • Exclusive digital video content

From the biggest stadiums to the stories that often go unnoticed, our aim is to bring a different perspective to sports journalism.

Beyond the Score

A score tells you what happened.

But sports journalism should also ask:

How did it happen?
Why did it happen?
Who made the difference?
What happened behind the scenes?
And what does it mean for the game?

That is where The Sports Decode comes in.

Through articles, videos, interviews, ground reporting and special series, we aim to give audiences context along with the news.

Our Journalism

We believe sports journalism should be fast, factual and fearless — without becoming sensational.

Our editorial approach is built around:

Facts over rumours.
Stories over noise.
Context over clickbait.
Questions over assumptions.

We respect the game, its athletes and its institutions, while maintaining the responsibility to ask questions and report what matters.

Our objective is not to manufacture excitement.

The game already has enough drama. Our job is to tell its story properly.

From the Ground

The Sports Decode is built with a strong focus on first-hand sports journalism and event coverage.

Our team has experience covering major sporting events, including the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, Indian Premier League (IPL), Indian Super League (ISL) and other sporting events.

We believe being present where the action happens brings a different depth to journalism — the atmosphere, the people, the conversations and the moments that cannot always be captured through a scorecard.

Our Stories

Some sporting moments deserve more than a breaking-news headline.

That’s why The Sports Decode is also building a collection of special stories and original series exploring the history, personalities, controversies, iconic moments and lesser-known stories that have shaped sport.

Our World Cup Stories series, for example, looks back at historic moments from the world’s biggest cricket tournament and tells the stories behind matches that became part of cricket history.

Because sometimes, the best sports stories aren’t about what happened today.

They’re about what the game made us remember.

Our Vision

The vision behind The Sports Decode is to build a sports media platform with its own identity — one that combines the speed of digital media with the standards of professional journalism.

We want to create a platform where sports fans can:

Know the news.
Understand the game.
Discover the story.

As we grow, we aim to expand our coverage across sports, cities, tournaments and formats while continuing to build a newsroom that values credibility, originality and ground-level journalism.

Founder

Naveen Prasad is the Founder of The Sports Decode and a journalist with experience in sports media and event coverage.

His journalism journey includes coverage associated with major sporting events such as the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, IPL, ISL and other sporting events.

The Sports Decode was created with the vision of giving sports journalism a distinct digital identity — combining reporting, storytelling and technology to create content for the modern sports audience.

Our Promise

We may not cover every story.

But when we do cover a story, we want it to have a reason to be told.

We aim to report responsibly, tell stories creatively and keep the audience at the centre of everything we do.

Because sports is not just a game.

It is history.
It is emotion.
It is people.
It is culture.
And every game has a story waiting to be decoded.
